I am married and have three grown children. I hold a B.S. degree in Child Development and have over 25 years of experience in the early childhood field. I have served as a teacher, master teacher, mentor teacher, assistant director, workshop presenter and lobbyist for the early childhood field. I was also, the co-founder of the Bay Area Parent Preschool Coop. Rainbow is a member of PACE (Professional Association of Child Educators) and I am a member of the educational committee of PACE. The staff and myself keep abreast of the latest developments of childcare programs so that our standards remain of the highest quality. We have just completed all four modules of the PITC (Programs in Infant/ Toddler Care) program, Rainbow is now certified as a lab school, which will enable our teachers to complete their practicum education while still teaching. Rainbow Daycare and Preschool is an excellent example of the success that comes from people in a community working together toward a common goal. The goal is to provide quality childcare in an enriching environment. A goal we strive for everyday!

A rating system we use at Rainbow. I have worked for Head start, tutored children in reading, assisted in kindergarten classroom and run Sunday school classes both for the 2 yr olds and 3 yr olds. I work with children for the joy of watching them grow and develop. I love to watch the process of children figuring out how to solve problems and work with their friends. I love to see the change in them when they learn new things. I believe in child directed learning. We cater to the child’s interests. As a teacher I believe that we need to set up an enriching environment for children to explore. I believe that children want to do the right thing and want to be held to that standard. Children need to know why they should make the decisions they are making. I am a mom with two children, who also attend Rainbow. My favorite thing to learn in school was always Math.
